About

Our Soaps are Vegan!

We don’t rush the soap making process, and that’s why we sometimes may not have your favorite bar ready when you ask for it. We handcraft our soaps in small batches, using one of three techniques: cold process, hot process, and melt-and-pour. The first method of production requires up to four weeks’ cure time, while the melt-and-pour method requires a much shorter time before the soap is ready for you to use and enjoy.  Most of our soaps are hot-process soaps, which has a shorter cure time and contributes to warm, “rustic” look of each bar.  We use the following vegetable oils in our 100% natural vegan soaps:

Avocado Oil

We know how avocados can add creamy goodness to salads and sandwiches – well, the oil from this amazing fruit also contributes to the goodness of Luscious Lathers’ soaps.  This oil is rich in linoleic acid, which works to condition and moisturize the skin.

Palm Oil

Palm Oil contributes to the stability, volume, and creaminess of the lather of Luscious Lathers Soaps.   We use sustainably produced Palm Oil.

Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil contains lauric acid, an ingredient that has been found to act as an anti-bacterial agent. This versatile Oil is known for its cleansing qualities, and it contributes to the luxuriant and abundant lather found in every bar of Luscious Lathers’ soaps.

Castor Oil

Castor oil has antibacterial properties and helps our soaps develop into hard long-lasting bars.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter is rich in skin loving fatty acids. These fatty acids are easily absorbed by the skin, which helps lock in the skin’s natural moisture. Our Shea Butter products are made with raw and unrefined fair-trade Shea Butters, sourced from Nigeria and Ghana.

Glycerin

There’s one other ingredient present in Luscious Lathers Soaps: Glycerin. Only this time, we don’t have to add it to our soaps, because this excellent humectant is a natural by-product of the soap making process. Soaps that contain glycerin are mild and help to moisturize the skin while they cleanse. Most commercial soap makers remove natural Glycerin from their product long before the soap leaves the factory; they sell the Glycerin to cosmetics makers. To make up for the natural Glycerin they remove from their soap, commercial soap makers add harsh chemical “moisturizers” to their products.  Each bar of Luscious Lathers Soaps retains its natural Glycerin to help you keep your skin soft, moist, and beautiful.
